Message from NHS Oldham - flu pandemic
A national helpline which has advice and information about swine flu has been launched by the Department of Health on 0800 151 3513.
The very latest information and updates are also available on the NHS Choices website at www.nhs.uk. This includes a flu symptom checker, questions and answers and the swine flu information leaflet which everyone in the country is receiving. The website also links to essential information about travel, schools and colleges.
Employability skills programme
Groundwork have won the Learning and Skills Council contract to deliver the employability skills programme (ESP) in Oldham. Part of the new integrated employment and skills pilot in Greater Manchester it offers:
- Accredited qualifications in literacy, numeracy, English for speakers of other languages, employability from entry level 1 to full Level 2
- All teaching geared to getting a job
- Mixed ability classes
- Work placements and practical help with job search
