Local Development Framework

Oldham Council is preparing an important new plan that will help shape the future of Oldham. This is called the Local Development Framework, or ‘LDF’ for short. The LDF is a plan that will guide future development and use of land.

It will reflect the aims of several other plans including: Oldham Beyond; the sustainable community strategy; the local area agreement; Building Schools for the Future; and Housing Market Renewal (HMR). Together, these will regenerate and transform the borough over the next 15-20 years.

Planning matters in parts of Saddleworth are dealt with by the Peak District National Park Authority. This area is not, therefore, covered by our LDF.
