The Oldham Partnership produces strategies and action plans to ensure that it focuses on the priorities for the Borough in a structured and coordinated manner. The Oldham Partnership Executive and Steering Group are responsible for the overall delivery and development of the Community Strategy and the Local Area Agreement, whilst individual Partnership Boards are responsible for delivering specific aspects of them.
Sustainable Community Strategy and Local Area Agreement (LAA)
The sustainable community strategy sets out our shared long term vision for Oldham. It's a description of what it's like now, what its strengths and challenges are and how we want it to be in 2020.
The LAA is a plan of what we aim to do between now an 2011 to make progress towards realising the sustainable community strategy vision. The LAA is now the only placewhere central government will agree targets with local authorities and their partners on what is delivered by local government on its own or in partnership with others. The local area agreement is a combination of government's aims for the country as a whole and our local priorities as identified in the sustainable community strategy.
We have published the sustainable community strategy and local area agreement as one document. However the local area agreement indicator framework itself could change during the year. For the latest version please visit Oldham's local area agreement.
Oldham Beyond
Oldham Beyond looks at how we will develop the physical side of Oldham, for example, buildings such as schools, homes and offices and the transport system. Oldham Beyond is a very important part of the sustainable community strategy because physical change has a big impact on improving people's quality of life.
