New Local Area Agreements
After the successful pilot of Local Area Agreements in Oldham and around the country, the role and remit of LAAs is being extended as part of the "new LAAs", which will come into force in mid-2008. Government will be producing technical and operational guidance to support LSPs during the negotiation process, and the latest documents are placed below.

"First Generation" LAAs
The following documents were provided by the Department for Communities and Local Government (formerly the ODPM) for use when Oldham was negotiating and delivering its first Local Area Agreement (April 2006 to March 2009). Some of these may still be relevant for the new model LAA (which will come into force in mid-2008), although some will be have been replaced by the emerging guidance which has been posted above.
