On 21st of October in a room packed to the rafters, over 130 stakeholders from across health, social care, housing and the voluntary sector gathered to debate and shape the Oldham ambition for health and social care devolution. The event kicked off with key note addresses from key leaders in Oldham from the Council and the CCG and the Greater Manchester Devolution Team.
This was followed by a lively interactive session focusing on the key areas of the health and social care locality plan. Some of the key themes that came out of the discussions which will be built into the Oldham Locality Plan for Health and Social care Devolution before it is submitted to Greater Manchester included:
- Building on the strengths and resilience of individuals and groups within local communities to improve health
- Shaping the system around people and not organisations and ensuring it is holistic
- The importance of being able to share health and social care information across organisations in Oldham
