The Oldham Partnership is the Local Strategic Partnership for the Borough of Oldham. Local Strategic Partnerships (or LSPs) provide a coordinated framework for local organisations and agencies to work together to address the issues which affect local quality of life.
The vision of the Oldham Partnership is to make "Oldham - a place where everyone is proud to belong".
The main roles that the Oldham Partnership undertakes in Oldham are:
There are two strategies which drive the work of the Oldham Partnership - the Community Strategy and the Local Area Agreement (LAA).
The Community Strategy sets out the Oldham Partnership's long-term vision to build sustainable communities in the Borough - economically, socially, physically and environmentally. The second edition of the Community Strategy was published in April 2005 to incorporate the exemplary ideas incorporated in Oldham Beyond - the strategic regeneration vision for the Borough.
The Oldham Partnership successfully applied to be a second round pilot Local Area Agreement (LAA) in June 2005. Oldham's LAA will run from April 2006 through to March 2009, and is seen as the "delivery plan" for the Community Strategy. The overall objective for Oldham's LAA is to "increase life opportunities for all".
