Advisory groups

A series of advisory groups provide advice and support throughout the Oldham Partnership structure on the issues which cut across each block of the local area agreement. As well as supporting strategic policy development, the advisory groups provide technical support to the partnership boards on delivery programmes as required.

Strong communities strategy group

Ensures that the borough continues to build levels of community cohesion through both its strategies and programmes, including consideration of issues around race, religion, and inter-generational relationships.

Environment forum

Provides advice, support and, where appropriate, challenge to the Oldham Partnership structures, on issues of environmental sustainability  In addition to this strategic role, the forum will also help coordinate approaches to community engagement and involvement on the environment. The environment forum has an elected executive, with the current chair being Bill Edwards. Bill is also the chair of the Oldham Partnership steering group.

Voluntary, Community and Faith Partnership

Oldham has a large and active voluntary, community and faith sector. The voluntary, community and faith sector is guaranteed representation throughout the structure of the Oldham Partnership through a formal protocol. There are voluntary sector representatives on the Oldham Partnership executive, and on the steering group. Seats are also reserved on each partnership board for voluntary, community and faith sector representatives.
